Quad Test Results 1 in 15 Chance of DS

I’m not sure why i’m even posting as I have read every single post in this section of MN over the last few days looking for reassurance.

I’m 37 and 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby after a twin miscarriage at 9 weeks last year. At my 12 week scan baby wouldn’t cooperate so I couldn’t have the combined test, but the sonogroher told me the NF was way under the 2mm mark. I opted for the quad test at 16 weeks as bloods couldn’t be taken at my scan and my results have come back this week at 1:15 chance of baby having DS.

I want to be clear that DS is by no means the end of the world for us. I have a 10 year old niece who has DS and she’s amazing; it’s just a different future for us than we imagined.

I’m just wondering how bad my bloods actually are as the levels don’t seem alarming to me, but i’m not a doctor. If they don’t signal DS what else can they mean? My midwife was very vague about this. My results were:

AFP 0.85
HCG 2.09
Inhibid A 2.03
UE3 0.64

I’m currently waiting for our harmony test results which I know will make everything clearer, but the more I read about the inaccuracy of quad tests, the more I wish i’d not bothered having it.

Any other mums of a similar age who had high chances of DS after their quad, only to get good Harmony results?

I know someone else’s outcome may be very different to mine and I have a 14 out of 15 chance our baby will be unaffected, but i’m just looking for any kind of reassurance!

Hi I was 37 when I had my results, just turned 38, I had a 1 in 15 chance for DS aswell, akso my NT was 3.6 a little fluid behind the neck and was referred to the fetel medicine unit, this was all picked up at my 12 week scan, i had a 14 week scan at fetel medicine and the fluid had resolved itself, i was offered the harmony test which came back low thankfully, scans so far(I've had alot) have all come back looking as normal as can be, also heart scans look OK as u was at high risk for heart problems, the onky reason I havent gone for the amnio is because there is no other markers and all is looking OK, but I was at higher risk for miscarriage until 20 weeks due to the cystic hygroma, im now 29 weeks and so far so good, only thing is baby is on the 10th percentile so I have another growth scan next week to keep an eye, I've not enjoyed or relaxed the whole of this pregnancy as of yet, try not to worry too much though x
