Hi I’m 36 and 14 weeks 4 days pregnant. I’ll be 36.11 when my baby is born. At my dating scan 4 days ago, my baby had NT of 4.2 so I was made to do the combined test. I was also referred to a consultant at the fetal medicine unit at St. George’s hospital yesterday where we did the cvs. The midwife called this morning to tell me the results of the combined test came back positive and I have a 1.11 chance. Cvs test results due to come in hopefully tomorrow. This is my fourth pregnancy; I miscarried the last three and was praying this baby would come out healthy. The waiting and anxiety is beyond me. Anyone had a similar case but had a success story? I am just praying and trusting God for a good news tomorrow. Please keep me in your prayers.

@Koko2 that's a amazing!!! I'm so so happy for you!

@curliegirlie - I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention. I'll be more cautious as to what I say in the future.

That's great news. We were given a 1:5 chance with my first dd. Thankfully the harmony test showed 1:10000 and dd was born healthy.

@Koko2 aww the best news!! Sooo happy for you - this is your time, enjoy it as much as you can ❤️ I had to keep telling myself that during my pregnancy and despite natural anxiety I did really treasure a lot of it 😊 Our little boy Gabriel arrived a month ago 🙏🏻 Beyond grateful for everything - I know you’ll know that feeling!

And happy anniversary! I hope you’re enjoying some lovely celebrations today and the feeling of relief xxx

@NoCallerID don’t worry, no offence taken and the comment wasn’t aimed at you in particular. Language is a very powerful thing and so I think it’s important to get it right and slowly but surely change the conversation.

I find threads like these hugely difficult, but I accept it’s obviously a very individual decision for each family to make. I just hope that more and more people read resources such as the ones I signed posted about DS and so at least the decision is based on more balanced information- not just the worst case scenarios spelled out by the doctors at diagnosis (whether pre or postnatal) - even if the outcome is still the same.

Anyway, I digress, and @Koko2 I am so glad you got reassuring news and had an extra reason to celebrate!

@jmm499 congratulations on the birth of your bundle of joy. I really share in your happiness.

My anomaly scan is Friday which is three days from today and I’ll be 19:5 weeks. Even though the 12th weeks scan came out well with baby’s organs all in place, I can’t help but worry about finding anomalies that would shatter my life. Hubby has said everything will be fine, I pray everything will be fine, but I just cannot help feeling anxious and scared. To make matters worse, I just called the hospital to find out if there’s been a change with regards to hubby coming with me in line with the new directive but they said no, it’s will be just me and the sonographer 😢.

And again, I feel occasional flutter but baby hasn’t moved yet. Take a look at the scan report and tell me if I’m not overreacting 😂. Be safe.
