Glucose Tolerance Test and Gestational Diabetes test?

Hi, I have a note to do Glucose Tolerance Test.
Is it the same as Gestational Diabetes Test? and what is the difference?
My mom has diabetes with old age, is that why I should do it?

Does anyone know when the latest I should do it?

The glucose tolerance test is a test to assess how your body deals with a load of glucose (sugar). This is to identify if you are developing diabetes. The vast majority of the time this will be gestational (pregnancy) diabetes, but some people will be found to have non-gestational diabetes & so which does not “go away” after pregnancy. We know that if you have a parent with later onset diabetes you are at greater risk of developing it than some other people, which is likely why you have been offered it. In most places it is done around 26 weeks.
When has been suggested to you. Try to do it at the time it is planned. Leaving it late just means that if you are developing it there will be a delay in identifying and managing it, so increasing the risk to your baby.

Thanks I just have a leaflet and a note down that 28/40, to be booked after 20 weeks scan. Our 20 weeks scan didn't go well, because of other condition found. So didn't have a chance to ask for it. I assume it means to be book at around 28 weeks and 40 weeks? Not sure, I will have to give them a call tomorrow probably.

28/40 means at 28weeks (out of the usual 40 weeks of pregnancy).

@Nanmumandmidwife thank you. We found out LO's left kidney may not function after birth so I was totally forgot about asking for this test done. I wonder if I should do it a bit earlier due to complication found. Will ask the doctor I see next week for his advice, thanks for your helps.
