28weeks - what does midwife check/measure?

Hi Mumsnet, just wondering what to expect at midwife appt - 28 week check up- what do they do and why? Thanks!!

Mine was blood pressure, urine, fetal heart rate, first bump measurement and bloods (same blood tests as my booking appointment).

The only difference from my usual appointment was the blood test.

Ah right thanks - so no looking under the bonnet!

They won't look under the bonnet till the end.

No under the bonnet required.

I did go to the GP with pregnancy related hemorrhoids and expected her to take my word for it as it's so common, but she wanted to have a look before giving me a prescription. That was a surprise!
