Nuchal translucency of 3.8mm before 11 weeks

Hi there all,
I just wondered if anyone has any similar experience.
This is my third pregnancy and I have 2 healthy children aged 4 and nearly 3. I'm 42.
I opted for the Harmony Test privately due to my age and yesterday went for the test and quick scan beforehand.
The consultant confirmed me as 10+4 days and CRL 37.5mm so technically too early for nuchal translucency measurements but nevertheless she was very concerned by the baby's measurement of 3.8 mm. She said this gave me an over 50% risk of Downs though I have to wait for the Harmony results on Monday.
I'm prepared for the worst but driving myself a bit bonkers. I've read a lot of threads of women who have had similar readings later and within the normal 12 week scan period, where all has turned out fine, but I can't find any threads with such an early scan.
Any of your thoughts and experience would be very welcome!

I'm sorry that you are having a worrying time.
Nothing is certain. When I had a worrying 12 week scan we drove ourselves crazy looking at research, statistics, medical reports.

Then I rralised, none of it mattered.Our baby was our baby. His chromosomes were already set. We just had to wait.

He had downs and multiple severe medical complications. I had a tfmr. Other people have a better outcome, I hope very much you will be among them.

Sorry you're going through this. I had a NT of 3.9 at 9 weeks (they measured it at the start of an amnio) and all turned out fine although it was of course terrifying. DC now a happy healthy 9 yr old.

Ironically the reason I was having an amnio was that my previous pregnancy, with a totally normal NT ended due to Downs.

Hi guys I wanted to post my experience because I have not seen much outcomes like mine. In September 2018 I found out that I was pregnant with my second child, which was later followed up by a 12 week scan. My scan showed an increased NT of 3.8mm alongside an abnormal looking heart. I was taken aside by the Fetal medicine consultant who told me that there was likely a genetic abnormality with the baby. I was very much in denial and opted to have the blood screening test, which came back really high for trisomy 21,18 and 13. I still did not want to think the worst so I opted to have a CVS done on the NHS which was arranged very quickly, unfortunately the results came back positive for trisomy 13 alongside a severe heart defect. I was devastated unfortunately Patau syndrome is not compatible with life so I had have a termination at 15 weeks 5 days. This was the worst experience I have ever gone through to date and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
