Very high hcg and low pappa! Anyone had similar??

Hi all,

I’m very worried as after combined test I’ve been given 1 in 15 chance of baby having DS. I’m 37 and have a 2 year old already.

My results at 13 weeks:
NT: 1.8mm
Hcg: 4.53 mom
Pappa: 0.51 mom

I’d awaiting NIPT results - 2 weeks is such a long time! Any advice/support is much appreciated x

@Labrinth1 I felt very similar - just overwhelmed thinking of what the future might hold. I really hope you get your results you want and quickly too.

I had a 1 in 13 chance of DS due to low papp a, high hcg and my age (40). My Nipt results came back as highly unlikely and my son was born on 4th June... He doesn't have DS. It was a very anxious time but there is hope... And chances are you will have a positive outcome.

Fingers crossed maybe tomorrow afternoon. Mumsnet has been my lifeline reading people’s stories - everyone is so supportive and kind xx

Thank you for being so kind. Hearing these stories really does help. I'm just feeling more wound up and sicker by the minute though. The waiting is unbearable x

I just wanted to update; Just received the call a day earlier than expected with our NIPT results and we are low risk. 1 in 10,000 for all chromosonal conditions.

I really feel like its been a week of hell that I wouldn't wish on anyone. The NHS tests cause so much worry and heartache.

I really hope everyone else gets the results they are hoping for and that my story helps other people going through this horrible time.

Really pleased for you @labrinth1 it really is the worse time in the world.

Sadly we didn’t get the results we hoped for. Positive for T21 and with multiple cardiac issues also picked up at each scan; so sadly this is the end of the road for us which breaks my heart. But my little boy will be born and remembered for ever 💙

Thank you both. This will be the worse week of my life. Luckily I have an amazing husband we had discussed this scenario before I even got pregnant I just thought we’d never have to live it and having talked about it was sensible enough.

I really do wish you every luck going forward @labrinth1 and that you can start enjoying this pregnancy. These threads have really made me realise I’m not alone and there are some amazing ladies out there 💙
