NT measurement at dating scan

I'm due for my dating scan on Wednesday morning and I'm starting to feel the anxiety build. In my last pregnancy I declined the screening and in previous months pregnancies the nt didn't exist. So I've no idea how it works.

I'm 40 so I know I'm high risk. Will they tell me the nt measurement at my scan? Will they tell me if it's higher than average? What happens next?

Thanks all xxxx

On my scan all she said was 'measurements look fine' and I also had a blood test. If they don't mention anything be sure to ask to put your mind at ease Thanks

@pitterpatterbaby they have usually told me or I have asked. It will also be written on the scan report. You can google the 'normal' range and go in armed with this info for instant reassurance! Good luck.

The normal measurement is 1mm - 3.4mm, they are obliged to tell you if the measurement is over this number x

They will tell you there and then! I declined the combined screening with my first child but they did the measurement anyway and told my that it was high.

Thanks all, I'm feeling quite terrified! But at least it seems they will tell me x

Scan went well yesterday. Decided against screening although the sonographer said there were no concerns.

The shock was I'm having identical twins!!!

@pitterpatterbaby oh wow! I bet that took your mind off the NT!!

I had twins, you never forget the moment they tell you! It's lovely, I promise.
