I'm sorry your going through this.

This happened to me.

We had cvs a week later. The cystic hygroma was gone by that point. Cvs came back normal and so we thought we were I'm the 25% where everything was normal and no reason could be found.

However, when my ds was born it was apparent all was not normal. He has since been diagnosed with white Sutton syndrome. It's a genetic syndrome so won't be picked up on cvs.

He has alot of issues but we hope things will get better as he gets older. But he will be intellectually disabled for life.

Can I ask why you refused the test.

A cystic hygroma is an indication that things are not quite right with your baby. I appreciate you may want to keep baby regardless, but the more you know before baby is born, the more you can prepare. If your worried about risk you could have harmony test instead of cvs.

I honestly didn't beleive there would be anything majorly wrong with ds as the cvs came back normal and no one had spoken to us about genetic syndromes. It was a really big shock finding out he had a issues and it took me along time to come to terms with it. It ruined the early days with him. I wish I had known earlier so I could have prepared before he was born.
