Nuchal Dating Scan at 16 weeks

I've just been sent my nuchal dating scan appointment and it's not until I'm 16 weeks. I have type 1 diabetes too so am I within my rights to ask for an earlier scan? What if they can't fit me in?

I'd ring your midwife or scan enquiries (in your notes at the back page) and tell them you'll be 16 weeks that's too late. Nuchal needs to be done before 13+6 at the latest. There are other tests which can be done around 16 weeks but it's not a scan and only tests for down syndrome I believe not Edwards or pataeu x

Have you been seen in the consultant clinic yet? With type 1 diabetes you should be seen ASAP and definitely have an earlier scan
