Mass found above cerebellum at 20w scan

Just had 20w scan, showed a 'solid mass' above brain. They couldn't tell me any more or what it was or what it meant. Waiting for a call from the women's hospital for a referral to a specialist for more scanning and maybe an MRI. Can't find any info online just going out of my head with worry. Anyone got any experiences of this?

Please help. Struggling to find any info online. Having to wait until Friday to see the specialist and think I may go out of my mind before then.

To be honest your obstetrician probably doesn't know what this means, it is very specialist stuff. I take it you have been referred to a fetal medicine centre, they will definitely be able to tell you more. It might be something, it might be nothing sorry you are going through this Flowers

‘Above’ brain?
There are lots of medical articles on foetal brain tumours, but not sure what ‘above’ means. In reality, you probably don’t want to google (I find it helps me deal with stress to investigate possibilities, but have an understanding that ‘worst case’ scenarios aren’t always what you are dealing with.)
Try and keep yourself as calm as possible until the specialist appointment. So hard, but one step at a time until you see the specialist.
(Dd2 was brain damaged at birth, so our experience was not during pregnancy, but with neonatal)

@Mamaryllis this is what I'm struggling with. The screening midwife told us it wasn't in the brain, but above the cerebellum. I've been googling ever since my husband went off to work and am coming up with nothing really. Found loads about cysts or tumours but as we don't know whether it's either it's so hard. I just don't know what to think. Yes, we're been referred to the foetal medical unit, but we're having to wait until Friday when we were told it should be in the next couple of days. I just feel sick.
