Short humerus+ femur on USS

Hi,

I had a growth scan which showed the femur at 24 weeks under 10th percentile and the humerus on the 5th. We had a low risk 1:6000 risk of T21 in the first trimester. Nothing was really said during the scan only that I should have a repeat in 4 weeks. Did anyone have the same issue before and has more positive storied to share than Dr Google?

Thanks.

@Missdrifter aww you poor thing I know it's worry after worry isn't it! I had a miscarriage with my first baby last year, found out at my 12 week scan. This time I got to 12 weeks and starting really heavy bleeding which lasted for 3 weeks which they couldn't really confirm where it was coming from! They said it could of been something to do with my placenta at the time so now I'm wondering if all the heavy bleeding may have set his growth back a few weeks so I didn't have a scan for 6 weeks while bleeding 🤷🏻‍♀️ god knows. I didn't have the screening because I be known peoples come back high and in the end all was fine so thought I'd only end up worrying myself sick all through the pregnancy and now I have anyway! My measurements are off the charts at the moment but I know that even 1mm here and there can put it on and off the chart and hoping he'll catch up as she said he may need to be delivered early xx

@RainbowL2020
I had my baby girl on 13/06 and she is perfect, nothing wrong with her legs at all!!! She is just a bit short, that's all!!! All this stress and worry . I'm sure your little one will be fine too but I know is easy to say.

Hi all just to update I've been for my 30 weeks growth scan today and they said that he's still measuring between the 3/5th percentiles for his long bones (so they are measuring around 27 weeks) but he has followed his growth curve since last time. She said the plots on his chart would of had to of dropped a lot lower for them to be concerned and he is now estimated around 3lb so I'm happy with that 🥰 back in 2 weeks for another scan and then probably only one more after that to discuss delivery 🤭 hope everyone's else is doing ok! X @Missdrifter @Berety123

Missdrifter · 08/07/2020 18:20

@RainbowL2020 that’s really reassuring news. That’s also what I was told that the plots would be way way off the chart for them to be concerned. Hope that has helped put your mind at rest. X

RainbowL2020 · 08/07/2020 18:50

Hi all just wanted to update! After all the worrying my baby boy was born 19th July at 31w + 4 because I had a placental abruption. Turns out my placenta was never working as it should of been (even though every scan it was checked and always said to be fine) so my boys arms and legs measured small on their charts but absolutely healthy just small at 3lb 4! He's in NICU at the moment which is emotionally really tough but he's doing really well and progressing as he should. I am just so thankful that we were in the right place at the right time and my gorgeous boy is safe and well 💙 x @Berety123 @Missdrifter
