after 3.9 NT reading - waiting for additional scans - dealing with second tri nausea / exhaustion

I'm 17 weeks with my fourth child, and having a difficult pregnancy so far. After a 3.9 NT result at dating scan, had a CVS which came back clear. Now waiting for additional fetal heart scan and abnormalities scanning to rule out other structural / heart problems

It has obv been a really stressful and worrying time for the family, and for the past 5 days I've been totally floored with extreme nausea and exhaustion. I can't get my head around whether this is just a by-product of all the stress and worry / some sort of second tri morning sickness, or maybe even a bug (though no one else in the family is ill).

Not sure what to do. whether to try and carry on or just rest properly (or try to) and see if that helps some. Did read somewhere that second tri nausea could be a sign of problems with placenta so a bit worried about that too.

Any thoughts / advice out there?

It sounds like a very stressful time for you. Why don’t you go to the GP to have it checked out? Or call your midwife? In the meantime, rest! Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the support! I can't decide whether I should rest properly or just try and keep going - especially if this might be a feature for a decent chunk of my pregnancy. Hard to know what to do for the best!

Rest! Always the best choice! You need to take care of yourself. Pregnancy is physically and mentally taxing, especially when there are complications or concerns x

Just wanted to add a positive story - we had same result, the heart scans were clear too and little one is now several months old and completely normal/healthy as far as we can see and hitting normal milestones well

I am a worrier so still look out for something wrong that caused it but consultants assured me at the time it’s sometimes just one of those things with no explanation

I had nausea most of the pregnancy. I will be thinking of you!
