NT results and nasal bone

We had our 12-week scan yesterday and was given the NT measurement of 4.7mm and referred for further tests as this is high. We’re going out of our minds with worry. I’ve also heard that no (or not prominent) nasal bone can be suggestive of abnormalities.
Can anybody see the nasal bone on this photo?

You won't be able tto see on that scan. Where did you read that anyway, never heard of it

Yes, an absent nasal bone can point towards Down Syndrome. I don't know about other conditions. It's a soft marker though, not a definite sign. DS1 has Downs and his nasal bone was all there at 12 weeks. Did the clinicians say anything about the nasal bone? You'd have to be clinically trained to spot it on a scan pic, I think.

The position isn’t great but I can sort of see it, I think. You’d need a proper picture of the baby’s profile to be sure.

But as others have said, the presence of the nasal bone isn’t a great indicator of anything, which is why a lot of hospitals don’t look for it during screening.
