Cold/flu symptoms following Anti-D injection

I had my anti-D injection last Wednesday. Thursday/Friday I had a mild sore thoat which developed into sniffles over the weekend. Since Monday this week I've had a full-blown cough and cold with mild flu symptoms (aching, no energy). I've had flu before so I know it's not proper flu but would say is a mild form of it (I've had my flu jab). I've had to take the week off work as I feel so rough and on Tuesday slept until midday, yesterday slept until 10.30am and just feel rotten.

Is it co-incidence that all this has come on after having the injection or is it likely to be a result of it? I've done a bit of Googling and found out that the injection is actually plasma taken from blood donors. So there's a very slight possibility that it's slipped through the net with their stringent testing. Side effects/reactions are also listed as fever, chills and flu symptoms amongst many others. I don't really seem to be getting much better, and concerned I'm harming baby with the infection and all the coughing I'm doing.

Has anybody else been ill after their anti-D injection? I'd like to put it down to coincidence but not sure if I need to inform my midwife just in case it's a reaction.

I had the anti d injections I don't recall any side effects I think with any concerns you should always ring the midwife assessment unit for advice. There have been some nasty bugs and viruses going around if you are feeling poorly I'd get checked out for peace of mind

I've also read that this years flu vaccine hasn't been particularly effective so even though you've had it you may have just caught another strain

Well I went to see my GP this morning as I'm not getting any better after a week of symptoms. He said it's more likely coincidence that I've been ill after the injection and that I've actually got bronchitis Sad. He said baby should be fine though which was my main concern.
