Worried I've hurt my baby

I know this is probably silly but I've seen so many of the down to earth replies on mumsnet and seen what a lovely support network this place is. I'm looking for a little reassurance... Before I knew I was pregnant I was using a strong paint stripper on a piece of old furniture. The area was not particularly well ventilated... I spent about two hours removing paint and there was a strong smell in the room for a couple of days. I found out I was 2 weeks pregnant a couple of days later and was instantly terrified that I'd hurt my baby. My doctor didn't seem fussed and told me the chances of me actually causing any harm were very slim... My midwife didn't bat an eyelid but I can't help but feel a little worried. I had an early scan at 5 weeks and the baby was fine with a strong heartbeat. I'm now eagerly awaiting my 12 week scan to see if everything is ok Confused any advice?

So many people smoke, drink, take drugs etc before realising they’re pregnant. I doubt very much you have caused any harm. Welcome to motherhood though. It’s a lifetime of worry and concern.

At that gestation they’re supplied by the yolk as the placenta hasn’t yet formed so you’re fine. X

... And that's all I needed! Thank you so much. I can't believe what a worry wart I've become after finding out. This is going to be one crazy ride Grin x
