How soon after 12 week scan do you get nuchal test results?

Hi everyone,

My 12 week scan will be next month. How soon will I know the results for Down's, Edward's and Patau's? Do you find out at the scan?

Hi OP I got mine in the post about a week and a half later. I googled the nuchal fold as they had said what it was, but doesn't mean anything without the blood results. The midwife then gave me my blood results for everything at my 16 week apt. From what I understand if there was anything urgent that showed up they would call you within a couple of days. Congrats OP! A few days, probably in the post if all fine, or a telephone call if raised risk of anything.

Round here they call you within 3 working days if high risk and you get a letter after about a week if low risk.

I receive my letter saying I was low risk within 3 days of having my scan. I was really impressed!

I got my results an hour after the tests but that's cos I work at my hospital (got to have some perks) but was told that if I hadn't wanted to wait that if there was anything high risk I'd be told within a few days and if ok I'd receive a letter within 2weeks but it arrived around 4-5days later.

I got my results there and then at the scan, had blood test, waited for half an hour probably before being called in for scan, and by time scan was completed blood results were in. I think each hospital has different policy by the sound of it.

With my second there was some problem with the lab for the bloods, and it was really backed up, so it took about ten days. It's usually pretty fast, though.
