Hello everyone,

I had a scan yesterday at 19+1 which showed a possible cyst on the cerebellum and a pocket of fluid (dark shadow) in the intestines of my baby. I have an appointment on Monday which a foetal medicine specialist to have a more detailed scan but I'm just absolutely terrified. All my family are in the U.K. and my husband and I are living in Scandinavia so I'm just feeling a tad isolated. Have any of you had something similar? If so, how did everything turn out? The lady who did the scan didn't seem so worried and said it was just to get a second opinion but I don't know if that was to prevent me from panicking? Everything else was fine with baby's heart, kidneys etc from what she could see, growth for both head and body were both bang on 50th percentile.

Thank you so much for reading and any advice you can offer.

Sorry you've had such a shock. I didn't have exactly the same things but there were issues with my dad's brain/skull development - we had to wait a couple of days to see the specialist who used a more powerful scanner and said everything was OK, just one of those things. Hope it's the same for you Flowers
