Firstly, thanks to those of you who took the time to comment on my other thread.

I'm going to go for harmony testing....I'm drawn to lfmc because it seems to have a good reputation.... Here anyway! But they still appear to send the bloods to the usa so it's two weeks for results, compared to other providers who are faster.

Has anyone got experience of lfmc and how long did it take. Thanks

We had a harmony package with the fmc. They were lovely, the sonographers were really nice and patient as we have a history of a trisomy baby.

I called a week later and they gave us our low risk result over the phone. They wouldn't give us the exact numbers until the next appointment but they told us we were low risk.

Thanks for this kitty. I'd like to go with them as they do seem to have a good reputation, but I'm put off by the two week wait.... Hopefully they say that but it's often sooner? Seems odd that they still send to America.

I'm really glad you were low risk this time.

I think there are still very few labs in the uk that can do the analysis.

I can also recommend them. We had a harmony test (and several other scans) with them and they were brilliant. My results took just under two weeks to come back - I think it was a public holiday in the US which delayed things - but most people seem to get them more quickly. I don't know about other providers but I have quite a few friends who have also used the FMC and all of them were happy with the experience.

I can also recommend - have gone with the harmony package and so far have had a scan and the bloods taken - back in a week for results and nuchal scan. Everyone there very nice and appear very able.

Ps I really liked the fact the scan bed faced the screen the whole time - the doctor talked through everything we were looking at, whilst reassuring us at each step. I was able to have a really good look and the scan lasted about 30 mins.

They are absolutely brilliant and in the (rare) event of their being any problem you really are in the best hands.

Hi again everyone, I just wanted to ask those of you who used LFMC, did they call you with the results?

We have our harmony appt in a couple of weeks. When I asked the receptionist about the results, she said that they usually take the full two weeks, but if they come sooner and it's high risk theyll call us. Is that other people's experience? Thanks

I had the harmony test and was under the impression that they were all tested in the same lab?

I don't think so bellaboo. Some still go to the us, as at lfmc whilst others are done in London

That's what they told us too, that they'd only call you before 2 weeks if you are high risk.

I couldn't take the waiting for the phone to ring and after absolutely loosing it at a sales call from a London number that I thought was the 'high risk' call I phones and asked for the results.

They'd only tell me low risk as they use the combined screening scan results to do all the fancy ratios and numbers but low risk is basically a negative screen

Thanks kitty. I totally get why you'd have lost it. I'm not even having the test for two weeks and I'm waking nightly thinking about probability.

I used the FMC. They were brilliant. The two week wait was tough but I'm glad I went with them. They have great people and modern equipment. I had all my scans there and they picked up an indicator of a possible problem at my 20 week scan and recommended a rescan at 28 weeks. By then things had deteriorated and the baby was iugr and needed very close monitoring. There were no outward signs of a problem - my bump was still a normal size. I'm very glad they spotted the marker and recommended the extra scan.
