Hand holding while waiting for Harmony test results

Just seeing if anyone out there is waiting for their harmony results? I had my test last Thursday and time seems to have stopped since then. Both my normal scan, and harmony scan seemed perfect, they were very thorough when testing, nt was very low, everything else functioning well, it's my low ppap-a blood test that is putting me at high risk of DS. Some days I feel positive and others I'm overwhelmed with worry. My job involves a lot of independent research/writing work, so I'm well behind on deadlines while I trawl through the internet for some hope.

Anyone else out there going through this agonizing wait?

No, they said as I hadn't requested it at the time that they didn't check. I'm dying to know the gender, but really once the results were ok, I don't mind waiting to find out Smile

Fantastic news Mslad, so pleased for you. Though I do understand your frustration at having to chase! Fingers crossed things are a bit less eventful for you from now on. x

Chookford · 21/11/2014 13:26

My results have just come through I'm clear no abnormalitys at all! Thank god!! X

Mslad · 21/11/2014 14:17

Yaaaaay chook brilliant news! What a relief! Here's to a stress free pregnancy from now on.

Congratulations chook, it's clearly Good Friday - after all the hospital's certainty that I wouldn't get my results until next Weds, I just had a call to say they came in early and I'm also in the clear! Same as Mslad, they just said the baby was "highly unlikely" to have one of the trisomes - I guess they don't bother with revised odds at this stage.

Right, passing the baton of positive energy on to whoever's next for their results, and hoping you all don't have to wait too much longer either. x

Fantastic girasol !!!! What a great start to the weekend :) and what a lovely surprise as you weren't expecting results till Wednesday. This feels like a very positive thread, fingers crossed for everyone else.

Tranquilitybaby · 21/11/2014 19:54

Brilliant news chookford and girasol, what great news. I've doing the harmony package at FMC, did any of you? X

Chookford · 21/11/2014 20:01

Thank you tranqulity I had the harmony blood test at my local hospital but not the package I'm afraid, do you have any increased risks or is that just for peace of mind?

Tranquilitybaby · 21/11/2014 22:02

Just for peace of mind chookford.

I'm over 35 and suffer health anxiety so would rather play safe and find out. Xx

Chookford · 22/11/2014 10:44

Yeah I can completely understand wanting to just have that extra comfort of knowing nothing is wrong, have you had it done yet or waiting to have it done?

Tranquilitybaby · 22/11/2014 11:01

Having 10 week viability scan and bloods Friday then back after two weeks for the result and nuchal scan x

mamaslatts · 22/11/2014 16:36

Big congratulations to chook and girosol, what a lovely weekend you must be having! No news here but remaining positive ..

girasol · 23/11/2014 22:10

Good luck mamaslatts hopefully it won't be much longer for you. Tranquility, I also had the test as part of an NHS hospital trial, but with my last pregnancy I went for an extra scan at the FMC and was very impressed with them, they definitely seem like the leaders in the field. Have only ever heard really good things about them so I'm sure they'll look after you well. x

Mslad · 24/11/2014 11:57

Thinking of you mamaslatts and Tranquility keep reminding yourself that the odds are in your favour. I hope the time goes really quickly for you.

It's funny, when I've said to some people over the weekend that I had to wait two weeks for my results, and how hard that was, two weeks doesn't sound that long, but when you're in the middle of it, and your future depends on it, it really is a very long wait!

Yes you're absolutely right mslad. Just had a traumatic year with two losses, one ectopic so that's not helping my anxiety. Good luck x

Chookford · 25/11/2014 10:32

Good luck ladies, thinking of you x

Turquoisetamborine · 26/11/2014 18:43

Any word girls? Thinking of you! Time must be standing still x

mamaslatts · 26/11/2014 19:01

Heard today - all clear! Very happy. xx

Mslad · 26/11/2014 19:25

Mama brilliant news!! I'm so happy for you!

Tranquility Hope your wait goes quickly for you, and that your anxiety isn't too bad. I have a mw appointment tomorrow and am so worried that she won't be able to hear the heartbeat. When will appointment anxiety end?!

Turquoisetamborine · 26/11/2014 19:32

That's fantastic!! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy now

girasol · 26/11/2014 20:59

Yay mama! The 100% record continues. Best of luck to tranquility and anyone else who's still waiting.
Mslad - when I had my 16wk appt with my son, the midwife said it was hospital policy not to listen for a heartbeat at that stage. He (yes, a male midwife!) said he would do so if we insisted, but it was quite normal not to be able to hear one at 16wks. He said if he couldn't hear one we'd probably freak out (definitely!), but there would be nothing he could do, ie he couldn't refer us for a scan or anything as it was considered normal not to be able to hear anything.
I get the impression that lots of midwives/hospitals do listen for a heartbeat at 16 weeks, but my only point is you really don't need to worry if you don't hear anything. Easier said than done, I know!

Chookford · 26/11/2014 21:09

mama fantastic news!!! Hooray! tranquility hope your holding g up ok.. Not long now!

mslad I have the exact same fear now, 16week appointment next week and I'm scared about not being able to hear heartbeat. I can feel movement though so just hoping this keeps up as it gives me some reassurance, don't think the anxiety will end until baby is in our arms unfortunately!!
