When is the best time to book a early scan?

Just found out I'm pregnant but only 3 weeks in. DH and I would like to book an early scan (before the 12 week scan) as we would like to tell our close family members before then. On Babybond website they said you can have one between 7-11 weeks. Will you be able to detect a heartbeat at 7 weeks? TIA

7 weeks is pretty much the earliest to be sure of a heart beat. Any earlier and there might not be one and then you'd just worry... I had my early scan at 7+1 and there was a good heartbeat.

Awww congrats ! What else did they check for at 7 weeks?
