Harmony at FMC - waiting for results

I had the Harmony test at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London last week. For anyone else who has had this test, how long do the results take to come back? I know they say two weeks (and they said they'd give us the results at the 12 week nuchal scan), but is it worth trying before that?

Ignore me...just spotted a thread with exactly this topic from two months ago!

Exactly ten days for me (and that was over a bank holiday too).

mewkins · 05/09/2014 21:40

Sorry meant to say I hope you get the results you want xxx

Thank you Mewkins! Just called up and no results yet, but keeping fingers crossed.

Hi Totleigh I'm in the same position, had the test last Tuesday, nuchal scan + results due next Tuesday but wondering if I might be able to get the results quicker.

Can't find the previous thread you mentioned, would you mind letting me know the title or a link? Thank you!

Eleven days for me - I had the test on a Thursday and was called the Monday after the week in between.

Hello minipie - sorry for late response. The thread was from the end of July, called 'how long for a Harmony results' - it is on the antenatal results and choices board. Hope you have had the results you wanted back by now.

Thanks magic. I finally got my results at 13 days (they were very patient with my anxious phone calls; I think they're used to worried parents). Everything was fine, thank goodness. And the 12 week scan the next day was wonderful!

Thanks Totleigh, found it! seems like it varies - some can get it quicker others not.

I haven't called FMC yet to see if I can get earlier info, I actually meant to yesterday but didn't get time. think I'll just wait till tues now. Had my NHS scan on Thurs and Trisomy results were pretty low (1:2400 for downs) so I'm feeling pretty hopeful all will be ok. Touch wood.

Glad you have had the all clear :)

I went there on Thursday... So is it normal to phone for results? I was going to wait for the 12w scan in two weeks...

TotleighTowers · 22/09/2014 16:41

That sounds very reassuring, minipie.

tinytear , I only called for results because I was horribly impatient and wanted to tell some friends the news (assuming it was good news) before the nuchal scan. I am not sure this is normal, although they were very understanding.

If you do the blood test at 10 weeks and nuchal scan at 12 weeks, it is normal to get the results at the scan.

If you do the blood test later, and have already had the nuchal scan (either at FMC or on the NHS or at another clinic), the FMC will call you with your combined results as soon as they have them - which can be anything from 8 to 14 days later by the sounds of it, although apparently some people have been delayed.

Thanks. Shall (try) be patient and wait for the nuchal scan... Less than two weeks to go...
