Just had 12 week scab with nuchal tests, bloods etc. I'm 34 and they told me the standard risk at this age is 1:310 and my adjusted risk based on their tests was 1:726. Rationally i know that a 1:726 rate is good news and nothing to worry about. But with DS1 my adjusted risk was something like 1:10000, so my risk rate from today was way higher than i expected and I'm a bit freaked out. I was 32 when ds1 was born, and i know risk increases with age but surely not this much?!
now been offered the Harmony test and should get results in two weeks but in meantime i wondered if anyone could explain why my risk might have gone up so much? Anyone else been in this situation?
thanks
