Waiting for amino results

Hi, I've never posted on here before but had am amino yesterday after my quad test results came back as 1 in 20 risk of downs. The midwife who did the test was so kind and did a detailed scan of the baby and she thought everything looked ok, so fingers crossed. I' ve met some lovely children who have downs but just want to know now, and has been said many times the waiting is so hideous- is anyone else in the same boat and how are you getting on?

Hi C7. I also had Amnio yesterday and am waiting at home! Had some friends over for coffee so that has helped pass the time today but now on my own and trying not to google! I think we get the rapid results tomorrow so am dreading the call, my aim is to be very busy tomorrow which wont be too hard has have a toddler to contend with!! Hope you are coping ok. The wait is definitely the worst bit!

Hi Chocolate,
I've just got back from having a CVS done, wasn't too bad...it was more the anticipation. But we've been told we probably won't hear back till Tuesday which seems such a long time! We already had to wait a week as they couldn't reach the placenta last Thursday. The waiting is really awful.
In my notes they have written I have a risk of 'greater than 1:2' so it's proving very difficult to stay positive.
Hope you get good news soon x

Hi ladies hope you're both ok. I swing from complete optimism- how could it not be ok? to preparing myself the worst and googling which isn't ideal! Everytime the phone rings I've been jumping out of my shell and have spent the morning cleaning and watching rubbish to try and keep busy. Hope you get good news soon x

Google is not our friend! Poor you lizziejo, we have a 1/6 and it really is hard to be positive when the risk is so high. But there is still hope. Until our results come through its all just statistics! Sorry you have to wait so long for your results. I will be thinking of you both. Everything crossed for good news.
Chocolate7 you make me feel guilty I've done no housework at all haha just been lolling around!

I had to wait 2 weeks for my results, but that was 14 years ago,so things seem to have improved, good luck to you all.
