Am I pregnant :S

Im desperate for a baby and my partner and I decided to wait 12 months for better circumstances and we've just been away where I had a dream of being pregnant and it's played on my mind since. I'm on the pill and whilst away was violently sick most days and on anti biotics. Anyway back home I had a few days of light bleeding and since have felt unwell and strange stomach pains. I did a clear blue test last night about 11 and a faint positive came up so I thought I'd test again which is did and I got the same but I took it apart for a better look which it did go abit faint. It's playing with my mind as I had a bleed etc. am I pregnant. Thanks xx

Hi, it's really hard trying to second guess your body isn't it? i have always tested really early for pregnancy - i used the first response where you can test up to six days before your period and they have always been accurate. i think even a faint line is a positive test and it's rare to get a false positive. if you've tested positive twice it lloks good but i can totally understand why you are concerned though. i think a light bleed is fairly common in the first month though. i know it's really hard but i would wait a couple of days and test again (actually what i would do would be to go out and buy a diffrent brand of tests and keep testing until i was sure but i'm not sure that's the most productive way forward). the other thing to do is get ti confirmed by a doctor but my GP has always been quite unhelpful on this front, saying that they can only test 7 days after the missed period and seem happy to go with the home test results.

I would say yes.
Bleeding in pregnancy is common.
The antibiotics make the pill not effective.
Any positive is a positive, no matter how light.

Thanks for the help, I've been trying to get an appointment with my gp for weeks but 2 weeks and I'm in for something else so if I don't know by then I guess I will then! I've just bought another 2, same make though so will try them in a few days and see! Fingers crossed! Xx

A faint line is a line, congratulations op.
Proud mum to 4, 3 of which were faint lines.
Give it 3 more days, test again and it should come up darker or get a digital as that will spell it out even if faint x

Ooh thanks for the help! I'm so nervous an confused because of the bleeding thought I'd had my period and that was that but this dreams in my head coz last time I had a pregnancy dream they got pregnant! And got strange feelings in my belly! Eeeee! The second test was even fainter even tho it was morning but I did take it apart for a proper look :/ xx

so, heres a little more.. today I've got a splitting headache and the strange pains in my stomach are worse and more noticeable and my temperature has been up and down like a yo yo xx

you don't have to answer this and sorry if it's too personal but - how are your boobs? i just remember walking upstairs to take the test and suddenly my boobs were tingling and i started grinning because i knew then that i was pregnant before i'd even taken the test. the headache sounds like a classic sign though, i've had some corkers!

Erm I keep getting a pain that comes and goes down the side. It's like a tingly kind of pain. Very weird! Feel awful tonight, sick bad stomach pains headache etc! Too scared to take another test incase I get a negative. Hopefully be a very strong positive though xx

If the pain is coming and going in one side of your abdomen, please ring the OOH Dr or go to A and E tonight, just to make sure you aren't having an ectopic pregnancy.

Probably isn't, but it might be and it would need sorting urgently.

Oh shit, have keep an eye on that, it's the side of my boobs and chest and all over my belly with occasional sharp pain on one side. Have try get to docs asap I think! They were quite rude last time tho! Xx

Also is it common to feel quite run down like fluey with a crazy fever temperature thing. I'm still abit dubious about not being pregnant because I've built my hopes on being. Guess all I can do is test again in a few days. So scared :( xz

hey all I'm brand new here and could really do with advice I'm ttc I had a miscarriage in dec 2011. And haven't fallen pregnant yet! I did a preg test on tuesday 12th 2012 after having 2 weird things happen. 1) vommiting from one glass of alcohole never happened before. 2) my boobs are killing me for about 10 days now and they hurt on the side and on the nipples sorry if I give 2 much information! I had a faint positive line. Then thursday did another preg test had 2 bright red lines then the line vannished after 3 min lucky my boyfriend also saw the 2 lines. On the box it said read within 3 min and not after 3 min. So my periods not due till the 22nd. Am I pregnant or not don't wanna run staight 2 the doc yet. I just want advice from expecting moms or expected mothers about this 1st! I do have a lil bit of cramping and constipation and headac! What do you thing preg or not
