Anyone had a good nuchal reading but had a baby with a problem?

Just wondering how much reassurance can you get from a good nuchal reading.
Thank you.

I got a good nuchal (can't remember the number now but the scanner lady said it was "perfect"). Due to my innate risk-averseness I had an amnio anyway (I skipped the blood tests because I was insisting on amnio anyway). Everyone thought I was mad. The baby had a genetic disorder and I had a termination. Although my risks were very low, I was that one in a thousand or whatever my number would have been. If you need to know, only amnio/CVS can help with that.

Hope I'm not freaking anyone out. Just answering directly because it happened to me.

Thank you for your honesty. Realise its a difficult subject.

I got a nuchal of 2.0 and baby had Down's syndrome. Nasal bone was absent though and there was also another marker (risk was 1:2).

Yes I got a good nuchal (1mm iirc) risk overall of 1:3500 and my son had Downs. I also had a bad nuchal (3.5mm) and my daughter was chromosomally "normal".

My baby had a nuchal of 1.5mm and cvs confirmed that he had down syndrome. (I had a termination.) The scan did reveal though that he had a number of other markers for down syndrome which resulted in my being given a 1:2 risk. The nuchal's not the only indicator of problems, so I would always want to know about the presence of other makers eg existence of nose bone, blood flow between the liver and the heart, any heart issues, and the levels of PAPP-A and beta Hcg to give you the full picture.

Thank you everyone. Still waiting for bloods to to come which hopefully is good new given that scan was a week ago.
Although obviously even that does not guarantee that baby will be healthy.

I had a 1 in 1400 after my twelve week scan. At my later scan ds was found to have congential heart disease with 3 defects and the odds of down syndrome and other chromosome abnormalities were dropped to 1 in 25. I chose to wait till 36 weeks to have an amnio and hes got no chromosome problems just heart defects. I would say dont worry till it happens and enjoy your pregnancy!!

a friend had 1:2000 (combined nf and bloods).
no real marker at 20w scan
baby born with down syndrome.
