Giving birth in France (options available and Covid restrictions)

I’m English but I’m going to be giving birth in France. I’m getting a bit frazzled trying to figure out what I need to do pre birth with hospital appointments, birth options and just generally everything. Also trying to figure out their hospital rules/guidelines due to Covid and having my partner there.
Any advice/information would be really appreciated :-) x

There will be a few differences from the UK. Your due date given will be 2 weeks later (they calculate 40 weeks from conception not last period).
There will be no question about waiting to find out the sex: you will be shown on the scan and told as soon as it’s clear.
Giving birth generally involves an epidural: I believe they use gas less but things might have changed.
You might spend a bit longer in the hospital too: they tend to send mums home after 2/3 days rather than as soon as possible like in the UK.

I’m not sure about the details but those are some broad differences!
