In a nutshell, I'm pregnant with a third child we really can't afford. My fiancé is so laid back but I don't see how we're going to pay a rent of £900 pm when he earns £1500 pm working ft. Yes I'll get SMP as currently also working ft, but that still won't pay the bills!

This is my fiancé's first child and much longed-for but is it worth running the risk of being made homeless?

We don't qualify for any help as I have savings of over £16k which have been put away for a mortgage. However, our current financial situation does not allow us to get one.

I can't sleep at all.

@Snailandthewhale It was from my divorce as I jointly owned property.

What about doing some tutoring alongside your role?

@DragonMamma I'm looking into doing this (if there is the interest) if I can when I'm on mat leave? Not sure if I'm "allowed" though if receiving SMP from my current employer? Thanks for the suggestion 😊

You won’t be able to do it whilst claiming SMP but if it helps, you could ‘borrow’ the money from your savings and pay it back when your SMP runs out. It may help you feel better about using them.

@DragonMamma Thanks, definitely worth considering. I'd have to get into the routine of expressing for the evenings I'm out tutoring but hopefully breastfeeding will be well established by then so shouldn't be a problem Smile
