OK so I live 400 miles away from my best friend who's got 9wk old twins, and struggling hugely. I've spoken to her and her husband and they both describe to me symptoms of PND (some quite servere) although she denies "having anything like that" and he won't discuss the subject with her incase it upsets her.
So I called the HV and told them about my concerns, what if the HV tells my BF - she will go ape? - but what if she does something silly? I know my BF would not admit it to the HV as she has to be seen to be in control.
Tell me I've done the right thing - or at least don't flame me.

I personally think that you've done the right thing.

The HV won't tell her that you've voiced concerns, she'll probably do extra visits but make out like they're routine.

You sound like a good friend :)

I wish I had had a friend like you Smile

Thanks Ladies - Radio silence from my BF at the mo....either to busy to reply to my texts etc or the HV spilled the beans.......

If the HV spilled the beans then that is V V unprofessional! I wouldn't have thought that she would.

I imagine that it's just very hectic with tiny twins.

Well done, your friend will get the help she now needs.

Bless you.

I hope HV is sensitive with her and doesnt spill the beans!
You have done the right thing!!!

Maybe not but any chance you could visit her for a few days? (Obviously its quite a distance!)
