I made a lovely roast tonight for DH and I. I made lovely yorkshire puds and I had some mixture left over which I thought would make two lovely pancakes for dessert. DH tidied up after dinner and about 10 mins later I said "oh I'll go and make the pancakes" to which DH replied "I chucked the mix down the drain. it's not often you make pancakes".

GRRRR

I let it go and settled down with my glass of wine and the remainder of a bag of mixed nuts and dried fruit. I found, in the bag, a rather large green thingy and couldn't work out what it was. I showed it to DH and said "Do you think it's just a rather large dehydrated grape? It's not a sultana or raisin." to which DH replied "I don't know" he took it out of my hand, stuck it in his gob then replied "yup, it's a dehydrated grape" It was the last one!!!

To top it all, my wine glass is empty, he is closest to the kitchen, thus, closet to wine. Still no refill...

AIBU to think this sequence of events is worthy of me being so annoyed that I "forget" his beer when I do this weeks shopping?

I'm afraid he's a man. I did roast chicken last week and put all the bones to one side to make soup - guess what, he chucked it away.

I find subtlety doesn't work and I would just firmly ask for more wine and then say thank you (to give his ego a boost). Makes life easier and the result is more wine. ;-)

He;s just redeemed himself by refilling my glass and fining a whole new bag of mixed nuts in the cupboard

nuts after a big roast dinner? YABU

It wasn't a big roast dinner. Just some chicken and veg and yorkie puds. Hence the reason why I saved some mix for pancakes!

I think you should count yourself lucky he actually tidied up after you cooked. My DP rarely does that

PS - yes, forget the beer.
