dh is trying to rearrange our holiday plans. we go on sunday. he is pestering me to check that the match will be on and even suggested that we go on the monday (despite already losing two days due to db's wedding and me having to work) instead because he "has to watch the match with his boys" i've said no, our family holiday comes first. apparently I'm "ruining his world cup" ffs, he's a grown man! has just stormed upstairs.

You will never understand. Of course it is important to him. He can follow later, surely?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/06/2010 21:54

FGS that is pathetic.

'His boys' who are they?

compo · 23/06/2010 21:54

Well most people will be watching it on Sunday
I'd be pretty pee'd off to miss it
can't you stop off at a pub to watch it ?
Are you travelling somewhere in this country?

MrsC2010 · 23/06/2010 21:55

YANBU

notnowbernard · 23/06/2010 21:55

I wouldn't miss it either

And I am dreading it already and have been labelled the Prophet of Doom by Dp such is my pessism

But I still wouldn't miss it

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/06/2010 21:56

i do understand, but he is talking about cutting our family holiday short by another day. im sick of coming behind football and his mates. i even said we could get an earlier train to make sure we were there by kick off, but no. he wants to watch it with "the boys" never mind his own son and his wife.

I guess it depends where you are going
Sunday's game is going to be a really big one and important.
Amazed he agreed to go away during world cup at all TBH

If you are flying it might have to be tough luck, but if you are driving can he not leave at 5pm or thereabouts? Or be somewhere he can watch and enjoy the game by 3pm

notnowbernard · 23/06/2010 21:56

Pessism?

PESSIMISM

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/06/2010 21:57

Did he not realise that this might happen when you booked?

Totally agree with you by the way.

compo · 23/06/2010 21:58

He's unreasonable to insist to watch it with mates though
that's rubbish of him

androbbob · 23/06/2010 22:02

Bloody football!!

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/06/2010 22:03

im so cross. i dont mind that he wants to watch the game, i get that. but we should come first ffs.

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 23/06/2010 22:03

CAn't see why he's not happy to watch it with you though

I mean, if you want to watchit that badly, you watch it anywhere, surely?

MrsRhettButler · 23/06/2010 22:04

yanbu

and i love your name

do you want to swap?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/06/2010 22:04

I have no patience with men like this - childish idiots the lot of them.

YADNBU - you can all watch it together on route somewhere.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/06/2010 22:07

lol thanks mrsrhettbutler, right back atcha

we can be there by 11am. plenty of time to watch it in the clubhouse.

don't talk to me about the world cup. 12 years ago our honeymoon was a total washout.

There was a big game on while we were at Rick Steins having dinner. DH's rubber necking into the kitchen, where they had a telly, all but ruined my turbot.
BTW YANBU, in any matter WC related

Portofino · 23/06/2010 22:09

We normally go away July 1st - immediately after school breaks out. This year, I have to postpone the whole thing til the football is over as DH NEEDS to watch it on HIS tv.

It's laughable as we only get the BBC so he has had to watch the games with foreign commentary anyway, so we might as well have been somewhere warm,,,,,

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/06/2010 22:37

glad its not just me!

dh is passed out upstairs now.
