VUVUZELAS

Is anyone else finding that annoying buzzing noise at the South African matches annoying? I'm not sure i can stand to listen to the vuvuzelas for several hours. Either they need to ban people taking them into the games or the sound engineers will have their work cut out because that constant buzzing sound is intensely irritating!

Ahhh, now I understand why dh was watching footy with the tv on mute!

I'm not a football fan, but Dh is, so I am prepared for several weeks of football to bridge the gap between the end of the season and the pre-match friendlies.

But it isn't S. A's world cup, is it? I thought it was sort of everyone's, especially the countries represented? Anyway, I don't really mind what they do, its just that the annoying noise will be in my house for an hour or two every day for weeks on end....!

They sell them here now??? God, I hope it doesn't catch on!!

I went and did some ironing in another room halfway through tonights match. that incessant buzzing gave me a headache and I also feel it detracts from the atmoshphere of the game.

I like to hear "ooooh!" "Yay!" "Boooo!" and chanting/singing throughout a match and generally soak up how the crowd is reacting.

Sounded like I was watching Speedway. Awful.

Absolutely awful, was intending to watch some matches but if that noise happens in all of them I might not bother.

Not sure if they should be banned, but definitely are annoying.
