To want my blooming salt back

I have a neighbour who should be annointed queen of 'the borrowers'

sometimes its a bit of marg, sometimes a few slices of bread or an egg.
Last week it was salt, but the shaker was in use so I lent her the full container.

After two days I went and asked for it back, I felt so small and horrible

Woman used to live next door to us when I was younger was constantly asking to 'borrow' things including:

Sanitary towels
A spare pair of my knickers cos her daughter had no clean ones
Potatoes & carrots (on Xmas day morning) becuase she'd forgotten to buy any
