To think it's not that funny to bite someone on the ear

Have namechanged for this as have never done AIBU before and it terrifies me!!

Anyway, was googling the author in this article as DS loves the book and turns out she's married to Alan Davies.

Does anyone remember when he bit that man on the ear? I've read a couple of articles where he basically said the bloke deserved it.

In this article his wife refers to it as "a crazy and quite a funny thing to do, to bite someone"

I'm assuming she means funny as in amusing, or does she mean weird?

I just thought - is it ok and funny to bite people now then? Am I massively out of touch?

Did he do that? Weirdo. I've never liked him anyway. He always seems really smarmy and like the affable scamp thing is a front.

biddysmama · 21/05/2010 14:03

aibu for being surprised he is married?

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 14:04

Lol! Not your type then biddys?

erm... not manly enough for me... looks like he could get lost in his own house

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 14:08

Ha!

I really don't know if AIBU, it just shocked me that someone would be so casual about such a violent act. Specially a children's author. Maybe I need to get out more.

Nauseating. Not the ear-biting, the fawning article...apparently he is incredibly clever as well as being funny so it's probably just way above you notthat

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 14:19

All that and looks too

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 14:20

Whats the book like anyway?

OldMacEIEIO · 21/05/2010 14:22

there's plenty more nibblers in the sea

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 14:27

It's pretty gory. Just DS' kind of thing

YABU to namechange. It's not that controversial.

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 16:23

I didn't know if MN was full of closet AD fans

OP posts:
notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 16:24

I take it that means IANBU then

lazarusb · 21/05/2010 18:58

YANBU - this was an aggressive assault, not a bit of a laugh, especially for the victim.

notthatfunnyreally · 21/05/2010 20:57

Thanks laza

no that's not funny at all..a homeless
person wound him up, so he assaulted them - him a wealthy famous bloke and the victim a tramp.

Now whatever the tramp said was probably very unpleasant - but that doesn't warrant a physical attack.

incidentally, it's not that difficult to bite off someones ear (as some wrestlers and boxer wil testify) - it is a very degrading and personal form of assault.
