how much you earn (or don't)

if you're going to have to cut back on how much you put the heating on, or whether you have to cut back on on something like meals out or sky TV in the coming month - it's going to suck regardless.

whether you're single or married, or co-habiting, it's none of my business

working or not, I really don't give a shit (unless- and this is the only exception to my rule - you are one of those benefits claimants who thinks it's their god given right to sit on your arse and have no intention of working, even if when there's absolutely nothing stopping you from doing so other than taking your arse off the chair).

whtether you own your own home with a huge mortgage, or a small mortgage, whether you rentprivately or are in social housing

I don't like snobbery, or reverse snobbery, respect me for who I am and what I am and I'll respect you (so long as you're not racist, misognystic, homophobic etc etc)

Life can be a bitch and it can throw crap at your no matter what your "status" is - so no I don't care if someone on 45k wants a moan about anything (even if it's oney related) no than I care if someone on benefits is having a moan (well I do care but ykwim).

ermmmmmmmmm - so there (as it's a bit longer and kind of gone of the tack of what I was going to write it about)

  • sorry that really is totally random and makes little sense - was writing it while on the phone so kept coming back and forth to it and not checking where I was at and went off on a tangent - please feel totally free to ignore me

I know second - I'm bloody terrified about what's going to happen with cost of living etc

I guess I'm just a bit fed up of all the

"well I have it/will have it worse than you"

or "the way I've run my life is better than the way you've chosen (or not in some of our cases ) to run yours" type threads and comments on threads and I just wanted to say that actually unless you're one of the tiny minority in this country who do take the p*ss then actually I think all your fears/concerns/worries as just as valid as the next persons

yanbu
and I aggree. it is all relative

KorkiiEffenkrakers · 15/05/2010 21:27

the second coming - I agree with you. We have cut back on everything to the point where there is nothing left to cut back on. Sometimes it's just not a case of doing without sky or lattes etc. I have a 7 month old baby and am still wearing my maternity pants and the wrong size of bras as every time I decide to get new stuff DS1 needs new shoes/ the washing machine breaks down etc. It makes you depressed after a while (though I've never started a thread about it).

toccatanfudge · 15/05/2010 21:27

thesecond - I think that'll be most of us won't it (regardless of which of the boxes in my OP you can tick) (which is kind of my point - I think)

Actually having just read it again I'm quite impressed that you can make any sense of it with so many missing letters/words

thanks for op, op.

its all relative. i feel like i shouldn't complain about my situation because i'm not on the bones of my arse but that doesn't stop me feeling shit

undercovamutha · 15/05/2010 21:46

YADNBU!

mumbar · 15/05/2010 21:50

yeah love it

everyones (most!) people are finding things difficult at the mo - we are in a bloody recession - why should someones suffering be any different from anothers?

Me working single mum worried bout tax credits etc and change of simple lifestyle is real to me.
My friend today worried about having to sell their nissan nivara used to pull her DH's boat because the deisal is becomming too expensive and finding a reasonable car that will do the job.

IYSWIM both are changes that neither want but I do agree that posting about them all the time are not going to change them.

exactly reality we're all people with the same range of emotions and feelings as the next person.

skint is skint
if someone says they can't afford something respect them for saying so - don't judge them or wonder about their lifestyle.
