Yes it is rude, esp if they want to sell them and haven't told you this/offered you the proceeds. I would offer clothes to someone or give them to a charity shop, but would object to being asked by someone who is not family/close friend. Think it is bad manners

ive just checked... her dd is 2 and her ds is 1... my dd is 14 months

Yes completely rude, I've had this situation (not with baby clothes though), where someone asks for something and you think you're doing them a favour.
Then they sell what you've given them for profit. Bloody annoying!

Just tell her you're going to sell the stuff on netmums instead

chesgirlNOTgriffins · 15/05/2010 16:19

Call her bluff and ask her what she wants them for.

She may want them for genuine reasons i.e. to give to a hard up friend.

She might tell you they are for her kids in which case you know she is lying.

She might admit she wants to flog them.

She might back off because she doesnt want to be caught out.

Ask her, then come back and tell us what she says

TheCrackFox · 15/05/2010 16:23

Tell her you have already sold them as that is clearly her intention.

biddysmama · 15/05/2010 16:41

ive just pmd her saying " your daughter is older than mine so they wouldnt fit"

or you could just give them a price for it, see what they say then?
