To think that if I read less parenting websites I'd be a less guilty parent?

I am a natural worrier, if I don't have something to worry about I start worrying I must have overlooked something.

Since I've had littlemad, I've got worse and worse.

I can't help feeling if I was less concerned with what other Mum's do and think is right, I'd be more confident in my own judgement?

You're probably right. This book argues that it's a common phenomenon among parents. I'm sure you're a lovely Mum and doing fine. It is very easy to overworry.

Hear hear, I've read many posts on here about juice, yoghurts, fizzy drinks etc and thought what an awful mum I must be as I don't do organic, check sugar etc but DS is happy so

They have their uses tho when you don't know what to do or think AIBU as you can always garuntee honesty on here!

YANBU. Same for parenting books. I think it all just undermines our own confidence as parents.

Support and advice from other parents you know and trust is best.

I don't know - I find the opposite. If you look long enough you'll find someone who agrees with you on here, and that can be reassuring.

bertie spot on when I find that 50% think god woman are u dragging up your DS the other 50% are saying you go girl

YANBU. However being on here has given me ideas and thoughts about things I never would have otherwise.

I would say MN has made me a better parent (apart of course from the vast swathes of time spent twatting about on here when I could be interacting with my dc).

BendyBob · 15/05/2010 11:22

Yanbu at all. Too much second guessing. I wish I could stay off here really in some respects although I love it in other ways of course.

I'm almost glad I didn't know about mn when I was pregnant and dc were newborns.
