To think that there may be some sun somewhere within a 3 hour drive?

I am really cross. DD and DH are on holiday from school starting this afternoon, they have a whole four days off. We had planned to camp locally, but it has been pissing down for about a week now and no respite in sight. I've checked the 10 day weather forecasts for northern Italy, Germany and France and they are all the bloody same. AIBU to not want it to be raining everywhere. it's nearly mid May FFS

Thanks, I'll be in thtat general area next week. currently we are in Switzerland and it is pouring and is predicted to carry on that way.

We thought about Garda, but I need to be on an airplane on Monday for my big visit to Warrington.

oooh warrington. i was there a few weeks ago, less than an hour away from me, we took kids to gullivers world we got sunburnt cos it was much nicer there than it was here!

Abs, it seems to have been raining here constantly. We had a week where dd was wearing shorts to school, then it started raining and doesn't seem to have stopped.

Well, it was raining so hard on Thursday that we left it until Friday to go. We had decided to go to Lugano but ended up in Como. DD decided it would be a good idea to poke her tongue out at the Italian customs men. silly mare, the examination of our car took about 20 minutes. We initially decided to stay in a hotel but then the sun teased us by coming out. We camped and regretted it. Full on thunder and lightning and monsoon level rain. We came home on the Saturday to more rain.
OTOH, I think we saw George Clooney.
