Brett Mills of the University of East Anglia has stated that filming animals at "intimate moments", without consent is an invasion of privacy.

AIBU to suggest that this university is publicly funded; and as a consequence Mr Mills ought to be doing something more useful with his time, and our money ?

I have watched snail bonkathons including eye stalk waving. I've even encouraged the children to watch (it's actually fascinating - much like a gavotte but with more tentacles).

I feel I may have taken advantage of the snails, after all, I did provide them with dinner by putting tasty plants in the garden

If the animals decide to sue for invasion of privacy, David Attenborough is seriously screwed!

A ndbirdwatching is stalking, really isn't it? I'm sure birds should be able to get an injunction against Bill Oddie.

And if animals do it in public, then I think they should be arrested.

I found 2 frogs mating on my doorstep once. Most disturbing.

BloomingFlowers I agree on the no sex in front of the cat rule. I had a BF once who was standing naked in front of me and he moved and as he did, his bollocks jiggled, the cat leapt and I was too busy PMSL to help.

Goodness me, I have just seen an exhibition entitled "Homosexuality in animals" showing animals ingenious ways of satisfying eachother, when they are the same gender. I dont think approval was sought.

squirrels have no shame. I used to be able to watch them at work. all sorts of positions. Sometimes several involved.

I was told about a racing stallion who only got aroused enough to cover a mare if someone was sitting on her back!
The poor girl that had to sit on the mares had to learn to get out of the way pretty darn quick

I can't speak for other animals, but horse sex doesn't last very long. Only 30s or so.
Breeding racehorses is a very clinical business but it has to be - one well aimed kick can put a stallion out of action for weeks and when the use if a stallion can cost you tens, sometimes hundreds, of thousands of pounds you can't afford for for him to be out of action for long.
