She has sat down in the plastic curber box that the train track goes in and is stuck, her legs are out but she is sinsisting she is 'completely stuck'

She has been crying help for 10 minutes now and could quite easily get out if she tipped the box so I am refusing to help her.

AIBU?

Oh help her, FGS - don't expect rational responses from someone who is Trapped In A Box. I'm not rational at the top of a tall building - you can't expect a small child to be in a box.

BunnyLebowski · 20/04/2010 13:57

Eh?

BertieBotts · 20/04/2010 13:57

Have you suggested to her that she try tipping the box up?

AgentZigzag · 20/04/2010 13:57

Awww leaving her crying for 30 secs or so to mess about with her, but 10 mins sounds a bit long.

muddleduck · 20/04/2010 13:59

at the thought of Jack Bauer rescuing a small child from a plastic box

Definitely a step down from saving the planet!

Mouseface · 20/04/2010 14:00

I think you're a meany, if she can fit in the box, she's only young? Go help her out.

Sassybeast · 20/04/2010 14:03

Crying for help for 10 minutes ? How old is she ?

JackBauer · 20/04/2010 14:05

She's 4. And perfectly able to get out on her own.
She just got out while she thought I wasn't looking and then got back in again, cheeky moneky!

YABU. she's clearly got herself in a tizz and isn't able to think herself out of the problem. Go help her now.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/04/2010 14:06

muddleduck

This sounds like the sort of scrape my DS would get himself into. More than likely she knows she can get out she just wants you to get up and "help her" They just cant stand to see you relaxing. Pesky kids.

JackBauer · 20/04/2010 14:07

muddle, I know, total waste of CTU resources or what?

Will add a pic to my profile in a sec so you can all see I am not being a meany, hang on.

AMumInScotland · 20/04/2010 14:07

YABU - unless you told her not to get in the box because she'd get stuck, and you've been in this scenario repeatedly because she just won't listen.

Why not explain to her how to tip over so she can wriggle out herself? It may seem easy, but it might not be when you're stuck like a turtle on its back.

Mouseface · 20/04/2010 14:07

LOL at got back in the box again!

AMumInScotland · 20/04/2010 14:08

Oh, different if she has already managed to get out once with no trouble

minipie · 20/04/2010 14:09

Aha! cross posted with your previous post! if she can get herself out she can get herself out... sounds like she wants you to play Jack Bauer rescue though.

StealthPolarBear · 20/04/2010 14:09

DS(3)'s favourite game at the moment is putting his hand between the sofa cushions / under the huge gap under the bed and shouting "MAMA HELP I STUUUUUCK"

Sorry, catching up, I have explained she could get out by tipping the box but she made a really half hearted effort and then announced 'It's no good, I shall be stuck here forever and have to have my tea and everything here in the box'
