In thinking Oreos are just round Borbons

I've looked at them from all angles and all I see is a round, more expensive borbon.

I amof course nbu, they are pointless

blasphemy. oreos are far superior to bourbons.

Hershey kisses are fab, and taste better than the bars of chocolates, fact.

They are particularly delightful stuck on top of sugary peanut butter cookies, another American specialty.

BendyBob · 08/04/2010 17:39

I've never seen these Hershey Kisses you're all going on about. Do they sell them here?

MissWooWoo · 08/04/2010 17:42

urgh YABVU

next to a bourbon an oreo is positively chavvy

WhyFrank · 08/04/2010 17:50

I tried some for the first time recently after decades of Judy-Blume-inspired fantasies about how amazing they must be. So disappointing! Bourbons are better and I don't even like Bourbons.

CheerfulYank · 08/04/2010 18:17

GASP GASP GASP! BendyBob, will send you some Hershey's Kisses straightaway if you like! I really will, in the name of international relations and all o'that.

I love, love, love them...was in fact once a Hershey's Kiss for Halloween. It involved a huge silver tarp, an uncomfortable shell fashioned from cardboard, and no small amount of cursing effort on my Dad's part.

We do have Cadbury's here...we get the Creme Eggs for Easter. Is that different than your Cadbury's somehow?

lolapoppins · 08/04/2010 18:26

I have a friend in California who sends/brings over the green and red double stuff oreos they do at Christmas and Halloween, along with vast amounts of twinkies and ding dongs. If I lived in the US I would be the size of a house within a month.

What's up with Nestle? Do we hate them? Let me know so I can jump on the bandwagon as well.

Oreos are OK but I do have to add to the chorus of people saying Hershey's chocolate tastes (and smells) of sick.

Funnily enough, I never noticed this when I actually lived in the USA. But after moving back here and not having it for years, and then trying some, I immediately thought of vomit. Thought something was wrong with it, until I realized it was all like that.

EveWasFramed · 09/04/2010 16:44

Cheerful Yank...I'm an American living in England, and I can assure you...Hershey's tastes like vomit. I never noticed it when I had only ever lived in the US, but now that I have Cadbury's and Dairy Milk...I can't go back!!!!

Oreos, on the other hand, do kick the ass of the Bourbons. Sorry, but it's true.

LetThereBeRock · 09/04/2010 16:51

The Cadburys in the States is usually made by Hersheys and not imported so it doesn't taste quite like our Cadburys.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 09/04/2010 16:56

I like Oreos - they do have that dense texture, plus a slightly salty sweetness that really works.

Bourbons are a bit meh.

Reeces Peanut Butter Cups are just the best - thankfully they don't sell them in many places or I'd be twice the size I am now.

EveWasFramed · 09/04/2010 18:56

Very true, Let...I tried some Cadbury's the last time I was home...not even close. I keep telling DH if we ever go back, we will need to ship large volumes of Galaxy and Dairy Milk, or he can go on without me!!

CheerfulYank · 09/04/2010 21:02

Hmm...will have to try your Cadbury's. I'm always up for educational chocolate!

SGM, I totally agree and will not eat Nestle anymore. Not that I do now. But if I were so inclined...I will not.

EveWasFramed · 10/04/2010 08:12

CheerfulYank...it will be a hardship to taste English chocolate, I'm sure!!!

LadyGaggia · 10/04/2010 08:32

CheerfulYank needs a redcross parachute drop emergency crate of chocolate!

I'd put in it a bar of galaxy, a bar of cadbury's fruit and nut, a packet of minstrels, a packet of maltesers, a twirl, and a bar of Caley's chocolate from Norwich
Anything else she needs????

EveWasFramed · 10/04/2010 09:38

Ohhhh...Minstrels... >>Eve swoons

CheerfulYank · 10/04/2010 22:05

Oh yes, let's have a chocolate exchange program!

I was going to send butterfly some Reese's Pieces baking bits b/c it restored my faith in humanity when she set up the help-Trinity movement. But I'm worried she thinks I'm a stalker b/c I asked for her address. Not to worry, butterfly, I wanted it for chocolate purposes only!

tootyflooty · 10/04/2010 22:57

yuck to oreos and bourbons, but the milk shake icecream combo does sound quite appealing !

BranflakeGirl · 11/04/2010 09:51

YABtotallyU...next you'll be telling us that Frosties are just cornflakes with big ideas!!! Roflmao!

And congrat's on making me snort-laugh while eating cereals and milk...had a little nose-milk here!

OrmRenewed · 11/04/2010 09:59

Yes yabu.

Bourbons are nice.

BranflakeGirl · 11/04/2010 13:46

"We do not support Nestle's policy on marketing Baby Milk particularly in developing nations." Not to mention their links to evil bastard dictator Robert Mugabe through dairy farms his wife aquired by violence...a recent discovery!

CheerfulYank · 12/04/2010 15:53

A link to Mugabe, really? Wow. Wow, Nestle.
