To wonder why there is *still* so much packaging

We've had family here for the holiday weekend and, of course, they all brought presents for our DS and each other etc, which is lovely, but I've filled two bin-liners with the plastic packaging and that doesn't take into account the cardboard that goes into the recycling!

I thought that there was supposed to be a proper cut down on packaging and if anything it's got worse! Why do easter eggs have to have foil, plastic mould and cardboard box, oh and a plastic coated foil bag for the extras? Why do children's toys have to come with every part individually wrapped in plastic, within a plastic mould, in a cardboard box?

Urghh, it's driving me mad, sorry just posting this as a rant before I turn in, but honestly it is madness isn't it?

Best way to cut down on packaging is to shop at proper markets if you have time. Fruit, veg and meat is slung into a paperbag in front of you.

Then stop buying overly packaged products

Once people give business the steer they will follow. The reason there is so much packaging is becuase that is what sells the product.
