ftr i cook a proper meal every single night, just thought it might be nice for them.... now they are having shepherds pie instead!

Why are they having shepherd's pie instead?

AuntieMaggie · 02/04/2010 16:43

not if they're the ones with the fish fillet in them - and I lie them too every now and then!

ShinyAndNew · 02/04/2010 16:43

Fish fingers are fine. Especaillay shoved between two slices of white bread and topped with mayo and a bit of salt mmmmmm.

That's just for me though, the children must ahve sweetcorn and peas with theirs

emmymama · 02/04/2010 16:43

because if i make fish finger and mash and he says something about it i may be forced to throw it in his face

mangoandlime · 02/04/2010 16:44

Fish fingers are absolutely fine.

But, YABU re: those mashed fish and sweetcorn shapes. They're vile, (not liked in this house anyway).

Bucharest · 02/04/2010 16:46

Even telly chefs have fishfingers in their fridges.
Well, that Paul bloke that did Economy Gastronomy says he has.
We have them once a week.
Loads of veggies and tatties with them. Fine.

oldraver · 02/04/2010 16:50

And your still cooking for him ??

2shoeskickedtheeasterbunny · 02/04/2010 16:53

yanbu he is

elmofan · 02/04/2010 16:58

i echo oldraver - if my dh rang me & questioned what i was cooking for tea i would not be happy .

Wanderingsheep · 02/04/2010 16:58

Mmm, I love fish fingers!

Yanbu!

Wanderingsheep · 02/04/2010 17:00

Tell him to cook for a change! Cheeky sod!

emmymama · 02/04/2010 17:01

Turkey twizzlers and fish fingers are not in any way the same - I looked at the ingredients for FF the other day (when guiltily giving them to my DD) and they looked really fine, no artificial flavours / colours - just fish, spices, breadcrumbs. What's not to like???

YADefinitelyNBU

wubblybubbly · 02/04/2010 17:12

Jamie Oliver was doing fishfinger butties in one of his restaurants I'm sure! Tho they were probably hand reared, home fingered fish

Wanderingsheep · 02/04/2010 17:27

To be fair to JO though, he probably had made them from scratch.

damnedchilblains · 02/04/2010 17:38

how are turkey twizzlers any better than fish fingers. We love them in this house sometimes if I'm being lazy we have them with rice, veg and hoummas but I personally love them stuck in a pitta bread with tomato ketchup.........mmmmmmmmm

wubbly rofl at "home fingered fish" sounds absolutely disgusting!

btw those fish and sweetcorn shapey thingys vile the kids hate them in our house, but if they didn't i would buy them

emsyj · 02/04/2010 17:44

YABU to MENTION fishfingers - now I want them. Grrrr!

(with mash & corn cobs sounds delish - can I come and eat the kids' dinner instead????)

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/04/2010 17:51

Oh fgs now I have got to cook some fishfingers and its all your fault ShinyandNew

LisaD1 · 02/04/2010 18:24

Nothing wrong with Fishfingers. My girls (10 and 2) LOVE them, I do them with mash and veg and they clear their plates.

Your DH is being a plonker!

Pozzled · 02/04/2010 18:26

YANBU. Fishfingers and mash is a staple in our house.

kittycat37 · 02/04/2010 18:30

I really really really want a fishfinger sandwich now.

muggglewump · 02/04/2010 18:32

I always have ff in the freezer. DD and I like them with smiley faces and beans with barbecue sauce on.
