Perhaps I have just turned into my own mother, but the Sunday papers just seem to be full of asinine rubbish. We get the Observer and the Times. Both magazines just seem to be full of fluff and nonsense, the like of which could be found in Closer, for the love of god. The proper function of a newspaper magazine is for actual investigative JOURNALISM, not just the recycling of opinion pieces and gossipy rubbish. I was also fascinated to learn, in the Review section of the Times, that the breakdown of Kate Winslet's marriage is actually all her own fault because she takes herself too seriously and cares about her career.
This celebrity twaddle has surely gone too far... The Times apparently doesn't even trust its readers to sustain their interest in a (not very interesting) article about dyslexia without photos of Kiera Knightley to jolly them along. We are being treated as though we are 13!
