I just had no idea where to post this..

Decided i want to get my daughter something she can use in the garden for her 1st birthday.

Was thinking maybe a swing or a slide she could use more into the summer when shes a little older (supervised obviously).

Or iv seen little trampolines and paddling and ball pools.

Can anyone reccomend anything i could get her .

Cant seem to find a nice swing for her age anywhere.

Preferably pink :D

I think a small slide or a trampoline with a handle. We got a lot of use out of those with our sons.

Just out of interest, why pink ?

Yeah i was looking at the little trampolines with handles but was quite suprised that there made for 1 year olds. Thought they would have been for slightly older babies.

And i have no idea why pink just being abit typical and wanting pink because its girly very sad ino

i feel sad for all the other colours ...

DD has a summer birthday and she got the following things for her first birthday:

trampoline

sand and water table

toddler swing

she likes them all but this is what she truly loves: trike she absolutely loves going out on it and pottering in the garden on it.

(she is spoilt I know!)

We were given the gift of a paddling pool with balls for my DD's 1st Christmas (9m). Sadly the paddling pool didn't last the day so we got some extra balls and filled up the travel cot with them.

Great place to put her for a quick loo break too!

(We also have the trampoline which we haven't used as I don't think she's ready for it quite yet! Also, once it's up it's up and it's a fairly large indoor toy.)

Have to agree with ruby about trampolines actually, it's a PITA to have to supervise her very closely on it. The swing is fine though as has a harness.

little tykes jungle climber or other small climbing frame combo?

She already has atrike and absolutely loves it.

I wouldnt mind supervising her on a trampoline so that wouldnt be a problem.

Think the sand pit is abit old for her yet she would probably just eat the sand.

Water table is quite a nice idea though

I got DD (15mths) a water/sand table last month and she loves it. Haven't got any sand but she'll splosh away quite happily for half an hour! it's one from ELC that has half for water, half for sand.

Agree re sand pit, my eldest is nearly 4 and plays with hers most days. They soon learn not to eat it as it tastes disgusting! Make sure you get one with a lid though.

Our DDs got a slide between them for their 1st and 3rd birthdays. Huge hit as they can share it easily. However I probably wouldn't bother with one of the "toddler" slides, they grow out of them so quickly. Ours have this and DD2 has been able to negotiate it independently since before she could walk.

Another long lasting toy is some port of wendy house?

Or finally the little tykes red and yellow car (also available in pink if you're that way inclined!!) which has been the only toy in our house that has caused an out and out scrap - they both adore it. (you'll be pleased to know they've settled n a compromise - DD2 inside whilst DD1 sits on the roof)

We got something like this from TP toys, and added slides and bits over the years. It was a joint present from us & family to the 1 yr old, who absolutely loved it from day 1 with help. Has lasted fantastically well and is still goign years later. This model starts a bout 2 feet shorter, and you add a bit of height when they are capable of using it. Money well spent.

water/sand table
avoid anything complicated

Just a word to the wise. When my ds was three we got the ELC Sand and Water Table as it was on legs. We had two dogs then and didnt relish the idea of them peeing on one which was low to the ground!!

We got a Little Tikes swing/slide set thingy that was great when they were younger and sold well after on Ebay.
Now we have the TP metal framed thingybob that Catinthehat linked to.

They all love those Little Tikes with a roof, don't they?

Are you planning any more children? If so, pink is maybe not the best choice for EVERYTHING, unless you are very comfortable with the idea of a possible future ds having all pink toys.

The one we had was similar to This one, but with just the one swing which was a baby one with a harness.

You can buy those seperately as well.

We didn't have one of these, but they were always the most fought over things at playgroups/soft play Here

What about a little wheelbarrow?Thet love trundling around collecting and tipping stuff-combine with some toy gardening tools and there will be hours of fun.

OOH yes, a wheelbarrow is a great idea. Wonder if there are ones with a ball at the front instead of a wheel ....
