To wish my DP had done something for me on my first mother's day?

I did get a card which was lovely but I was expecting to be made a fuss of maybe? just a little bit? I ended up doing the same old chores that I do everyday. I felt like crying during the second round of washing up!

I know technically its just another day but I was feeling all emotional about my first mother's day as my son was a lovely surprise after being told we couldn't conceive naturally. Our DS is now 4 months.

When I hinted at this he said 'oh I didnt realise people did stuff on Mother's Day. Shall I go to Tesco and get you some flowers?'

My DP is a lovely man but he just doesn't think!

well, if his family didn't do much then his default is "just a card"

It's more than some people got...

He'll know for next time and I did let out an "awww" when you said he offered to go and get flowers...

I think he just didn't know, not that he deliberately didn't bother
