oh come on
people aske AIBU
but they know they arn't(me included)

Jamieandhismagictorch · 12/03/2010 21:46

I don't know. I can't say I've seen that happen very much. Lately, people are going for the jugular quite quickly with the "fgs" and "wtf"s, and consequently OP s are getting defensive. Gets in the way of a good debate, IMO.

Alouiseg · 12/03/2010 21:49

Tricky!

Sometimes threads lead you to places you never thought they would take you.

I had an interesting experience tonight, somebody i was debating with gave me some really interesting evidence.

I don't think it's about personalities on here anyway...............and i'm righter than Genghis!!

echt · 12/03/2010 23:56

If they're anything like me, they say this to indicate the discussion's over. And then plonkers who can't be arsed to read the thread pile in with further flames. Which is annoying, as the point has already been politely conceded.

Mumcentreplus · 13/03/2010 00:04

LOL..well thats an option!!...why not?? sometimes people 'flame' others without a total understanding or experience of their situation..

Alouise - why do you always say "I'm righter than Genghis"? Or, at least, have said it in many of yours posts in the last day or two. (I don't believe you have been posting longer than a few days but can't summon up sufficient interest to go and do a search).

Is it a funny little in-joke of yours, or are we all allowed to know?

Me, too Madam.

porcamiseria · 13/03/2010 08:58

Hmm, I have been told off and have listened, maybe I am in the minority?

BritFish · 13/03/2010 11:01

we need a 'DEBATES' section. so we can just go and have all the big arguments over drinking/abortion/rape/drugs/death/fussy eaters/no kids at weddings etc over there.

in fact, lets just call it the Arguments section.
actually. that would be ace.

junglist1 · 13/03/2010 11:09

Nope. I keep going to the very end. Till everyone is desperate to leave the thread

Alouiseg · 13/03/2010 11:41

Great idea!

Let's lobby for an arguments section, thick skinned only, enter at your own risk.

No name changing either.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 13/03/2010 11:45

Debates/Arguments - I don't mind. AIBU can be a really good eye-opener and a kick up the pants. But I hate people

a) not reading carefully
b) not reading the whole thread
c) not admitting when they are wrong, or at least being willing to see another viewpoint
d) posting on AIBU when they are clearly a bit fragile and would be better dealt with by posting on another Topic

As you can tell, I've got a bit of a downer on AIBU at the moment. Maybe better if I hid it for a while.

If I didn't want to know if I were being unreasonable, I'd post in chat.

groundhogs · 13/03/2010 21:28
