to love having full cupboards?

DP thinks I'm really odd because I smile every time I look in our larder, freezer or cupboards. I just feel like I am providing for the kids and being nice and secure when I have loads of food in. Not so much fresh (obviously we do have fresh food, but you can't get too much in as it goes off) but we have a larder, dresser, cupboards and two freezers full of food. We get the paper, milk, veg and fruit delivered, so we could easily go three months or so without leaving the house if need be.

I know it's daft, because there is no situation (apart from zombies) that would lead to none of us or the ils being able to leave the house or at least get a tesco delivery, but I just feel somehow secure when I look in the cupboard.

Is that odd?

YADNBU when i have my online shopping delivered and the foods put away, i do a little smile to know that we have food in the house and lots of nice things to eat.

before i go to bed my DH often gives me a look of 'what'? as i gaze into the larder with a gleeful smile lol
it makes me contented for some reason
but then i plan every meal for a whole month, have the sheets laminated and slotted onto the inside of the larder cuboard haha! i also tick off each meal, and write down on my grey board possible meals from leftovers
so no YADNBU

Either you guys are being unreasonable and a bit odd to care so much about food or I am to not

I like to plan meals (mainly so we know what to get when we go shopping) but that's as far as it goes, if I wandered into the kitchen and smiled because the fridge was full my DH would think I had lost the plot!

Each to their own.

I'm happy with a full freezer and cupboards right now .coz it means I won;t have to go shopping next week, any top ups can come from village shop. so I don't have to drag unwilling child to town on bus.
I took the car to town this morning, shan't have the car next Saturday, work Sundays.
I was quietly chuffed that we didn;t run-out of bread four and remained on home made bread right through the snow. When buses were cancelled for a week.
