Hello
have 3 yr old girl and 10 month old son

on way home from nursery 3yr old had hissy fit in middle of road whilst we were crossing, rainy weather, stranded in road with buggy and road thrashing daughter whilst there was an on coming motorbike! Spanked said daughter and put her straight to bed. Never done either before.......feeling bad. She did go straight to sleep. Need some support or am I just bad?

Jamie, why are you smug and sanctimonious?

youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2010 20:49
Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 20:51

youremindme someone accused me of it, on MN. As I recall, it was a thread about DCs chasing pigeons, which got very long and philosophical. I was not in favour.

Briefly thought of changing my name. I kinda like it. I can be a bit pious at times.

youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2010 20:54

who would guess pigeons could get so controversial?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 20:58

pigeon chasing here

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 21:00

Have noticed it's ridiculously smug and hilariously sanctimonious.

youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2010 21:04

you missed off ridiculously and hilariously.

Has a nice ring to it!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 21:06

youremindme - is it a significant birthday ?

youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2010 21:10

Yes.

I will be old.

ish.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 21:13

norty 40 ? (me, too)

Valpollicella · 23/02/2010 21:16

Ah Goblinsmummy. Welcome to MN....

Above posts are pretty standard in response to something totally unrelated, but not usually in AIBU.

BTW. You're not bad. You know this isn't the way forward in how to deal with hissy fits. Which is good! 3 yo are infuriating at times. I try to pretend (I know, weird idea) that you're being filmed by a reality tv crew (yes, I know. Odd) I do this and it really stops me from being shouty etc

youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2010 21:27

Sorry goblinsmummy. No you're not unreasonable just human, methinks.

Jamie, 30.

Not old really.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 21:32

Well, I hope you feel suitably embarrasses youremindme

Valpolicella - I used that film crew trick. V. helpful

Jamieandhismagictorch · 23/02/2010 21:33

embarrassed

Lucyellensmumma · 23/02/2010 21:59

The Poor OP, she asks for our help and we end up talking about oral sex

Welcome to mumsnet - tis what its like

RoseWater · 23/02/2010 22:09

So avoiding blow job talk - OP - we've all been pushed to our limits - the fact that you feel bad means you're not bad.

Enjoy your wine - you deserve it after your crappy day - so relax and unwind - explore the rest of mumsnet and get addicted

goblinsmummy · 24/02/2010 11:21

oh dear
am now a bit hungover, but have laughed my head off at responses, you all seem to be as batty/bonkers as me.

Thanks again, but will be having a dry night tonight.
