Getting some renovations done, dusty in our bedroom so Dh sleeping on the couch, and is grumpy as hell anyway. Ds is asleep in big double bed in his room. And he is lovely and cuddly. Would it be so bad?

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 22/02/2010 23:41

go for it, sounds great

JaneS · 22/02/2010 23:42

As long as DS doesn't kick/puke I think you're onto a winner

Geocentric · 22/02/2010 23:42

Aww, they're so suggly at that age! I still cuddle up with DS at times but he is 7 and all knobbly elbows now...

skinsl · 22/02/2010 23:44

Just don't want him to get used to mummy sleeping with him.takes long enough to get him down to sleep!

I would but then I dont have to worry about the 'not letting them get used to sleeping with mummy' thing
as I co sleep with gecko anyway and she is 3 now

skinsl · 22/02/2010 23:58

Should make the most of it, he's not gonna want to cudlle up forever. And he does this lovely thing where he actually puts both his arms round my neck and says tighter mummy.sounds like he's strangling me but he's not!

DS used to stroke my hair at 2yrs when he was falling asleep, was so nice! At 2.5 he began pulling it out instead...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/02/2010 00:14

Aww that sounds lovely - go and snuggle

alypaly · 23/02/2010 00:24

doesnt matter what age they are ,they are always your babies. My DS2 sits on the settee and gives me a hug sometimes and he is 17.we sit and watch a bit of telly. If i am down(which unfortunately is the case at the moment,he sits with his arm round me. They tell me they love me and that i am a good mum.(which makes me so happy....as i have been a sp for 16 years) I am a sp and both my boys are my rocksthey keep me going....

Im all for hugs

claw3 · 23/02/2010 00:36

Make the most of it, they grow up so quickly. Go and have a cuddle.

KAEKAE · 23/02/2010 00:36

OMG why would it be so wrong???!! Every night either DP or I put our two year old to bed and we get in his bed for a little snuggle and a big cuddle whilst we read to him! Like SKINSL said, make the most of it, he won't want you near him in a few years! lol

Geocentric · 23/02/2010 00:38

alypaly, that sounds lovely! I hope my DCs are still keeping the hugs and kisses going strong at 17!!

alypaly · 23/02/2010 00:41

Both my guys have always been openly affectionate and i feel kind of protected now as they are 6 ft 4 and 6 ft 1. Long may it reign. I hope they still cuddle me in 10 years time.

skinsl · 25/02/2010 08:46

Cuddled in again last night, and at one point he sat up and then when he went to flop his head down, he headbutted me!! I thought he had broken my cheekbone! I have a nice black eye now!! He was fine, it was the hard part of his head!

not unreasonable at all I cuddle up to mine in the evenings, they know they have to wait for an invitation into mummys bed (and its one child at a time!) so no problem with them getting used to it .

fernie3 · 25/02/2010 08:59

skinsl that sounds painful my son headbutted me when he was about 18 months/2 years and knocked my front teeth out of line! They DO have harder heads than you imagine sometimes dont they!
