Not important I know but I'm hacked off. DH and I haven't been out together for over a year, for lots of reasons. However we have a babysitter booked and a table booked for tonight to have a meal out - nowhere fancy but out nonetheless. He has just phoned from work to say that he 'probably won't get away' on time and to cancel everything. I understand there are issues at work (really I do) I just wish he'd told me earlier, when I suggested that perhaps we rearrange but he told me that he absolutely would be home on time. I don't know why I'm posting this as I know I'm being unreasonable but I was so looking forward to it. Moan moan moan! kicks the cat like a petulant child

Couldn't he/you just make the resevration a little later or something?

Tortoise · 20/02/2010 17:33

Find a friend to go with instead! Sod him.

GypsyMoth · 20/02/2010 17:34

how late will he be?go out later...

Megatron · 20/02/2010 17:34

Not really, he's about 50 miles away and looks like it'll be an all nighter. Oh well I suppose it gives me an excuse to send out for something yummy and stuff my face!

Unless he's saving the world/saving the jobs of many people/saving your financial future then yes, he's being a git. If it's poor time management and general obsessiveness with work then he has a real problem .

Megatron · 20/02/2010 17:41

There are quite a few of them staying to try to sort out a problem so I do understand that he doesn't want to be the only one to leave. I'm just annoyed that he didn't let me know earlier when I asked him and I could have made other arrangements. It's only a meal out, I know it's not important but I was soooooo looking forward to my mozzarella stuffed chicken with parma ham and garlic potatoes!

hope they dont all end up in the pub/indian/chinese together once they've all sorted out this 'huge' problem!

Megatron · 20/02/2010 17:57

They better not or DH will be wearing his danglies as earrings.

YABU as in this climate no one wants to risk their job and also U if you did kick the cat but I totally get your disappointment. Can't you go with someone else?

Megatron · 20/02/2010 18:00

I don't have a cat Fab I was only messing about. Ah well chinese or indian for me tonight.

Can you re arrange for next weekend? or another night when the crisis has averted?

janeite · 20/02/2010 18:09

I think he's being a bit unreasonable tbh - unless he is a brain surgeon or a policeman etc. It is Saturday night and he has a family - is his job really more important than that?
